A TRUE STORY

MARIJUANA SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE. How is that possible, you ask? I'll tell you.

Stoney, a red-nose pit bull, was twelve weeks old when my young friend, Kai, brought him home from the Humane Society. He was barely a handful of puppy - half head and half body, and neither half was as big as a fist. The folks at the pound said that they'd found him wandering a week earlier. Infested with fleas and ticks, and terribly underfed, they cleaned him up and tried to get him to eat, but he wouldn't. By their estimate, it had been a couple of weeks since the puppy had eaten anything. So, when a few days passed at our house, and he still hadn't eaten, we became very concerned.

Now, we are all potheads. This probably doesn't come as a shock to some of you, and if it does... c'est la guerre. But, one thing we potheads know, smokin' it gives one the munchies. So we figured, if it works on us, it probably works on dogs, too.

We therefore started a mini-marathon joint session, each of us taking our hit in turn, and then blowing the smoke into Stoney's face. We all got very stoned. And the dog seemed to like it, too, licking the smoke as it blew from our mouths into his nose.

Most importantly, it got him stoned. His eyes went red - bloodshot, just like our own. The eyelids narrowed to slits (I'm turning Japanese - I really think so!) and within minutes, the munchies hit. And Stoney started to eat, and grow. And now, three and a half years later, he's fully grown, and still a pothead, just like the rest of his family.
